Properties: colorless crystal or white crystalline powder, odorless, toxic! There are two types of α and β, α type is equiaxed crystal system with a density of 2.011/cm3. The β type is a triclinic crystal system with a density of 2.152g/cm3. Soluble in alcohol and water, insoluble in acetone. Stable in the air. After a long time heating, the β-type will be destroyed and transformed into the α-type.
Dissolution: soluble in alcohol and water, insoluble in acetone.
Ammonium fluorosilicate is used as a disinfectant in the brewing industry, as an etching agent for laminated glass, an anti-moth agent for textile products, and a wood preservative. It is also used in non-ferrous metal casting and electroplating processes.It is also used to extract potassium from green sand and prepare synthetic cryolite and ammonium chlorate. It is also used to measure barium salt in chemical composition analysis.
This product is non-flammable, harmful and highly irritating. Reacts with acid and releases harmful corrosive fumes. It is subject to high decomposition reaction to release harmful vapors. Ingestion or inhalation will cause poisoning. It has obvious stimulating effect on eyes, skin, mucous membrane and respiratory tract.Inhalation can cause throat and bronchospasm, inflammation, organic chemical pneumonia, and acute pulmonary edema.
Operation precautions: airtight operation, provide sufficient local exhaust. Prevent the release of dust into the air of the workshop. Operators must undergo special training and strictly abide by the operating procedures.
