Traits: White crystal or powder,odorless,tasteless,toxic,slightly acidic. Hexagonal crystal system. The specific gravity is 3.08, with moisture absorption, slightly soluble in water, soluble in hydrochloric acid, and the solubility increases slightly with the increase of temperature. It decomposes into potassium fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride when heated. It is hydrolyzed into potassium fluoride, hydrogen fluoride and silicic acid in hot water.
Applications: Wood preservation, ceramic manufacturing,Refining of aluminum and magnesium and manufacturing of optical glass such as potassium glass,it is also used as a raw material for synthetic mica and anti-corrosion material.
