Chemical properties:
Heating can be hydrolyzed: BF4-+H2O=BF3OH-＋HF
The solid is heated to 200℃ to decompose: NaBF4=heating=NaF＋BF3↑
Preparation or source:
Generally prepared by these methods
1. It is prepared by fluorinating boric acid with 40% HF and then neutralizing with sodium carbonate.
2. The substitution reaction of sodium metal and fluoroboric acid: 2Na＋2HBF4→2NaBF4＋H2↑ But because of the explosive danger of this reaction, this method is not commonly used to prepare sodium fluoroborate.
3. Sodium fluoride and Lewis acid boron trifluoride caused to complex reaction: NaF＋BF3→NaBF4 The ion equation is F-＋BF3＝BF4-
4. Acid-base neutralization: HBF4＋NaOH→NaBF4＋H2O
The metathesis reaction of acid and salt: ①2HBF4＋Na2CO3→2NaBF4＋H2O＋CO2↑②2HBF4＋Na2SO3→NaBF4＋H2O＋SO2↑
